I've been playing guitar since I was 17 (now 36) and I've been in a bunch of bands and projects including, Fallen Existence, Dead To You, The Earth Between Us, Mercia and now Shepherd of Rot. While my current band is heavy, some of the others were more melodic and some more electronic.
There is a lot of material that never got used, never got recorded or riffs that just didn't make the cut along the way. Within the past couple of years I've been feeling very nostalgic and decided to go through the archive of all the old projects and recorded practices for unused material. Naturally I had to jam with it and took a stroll down memory lane.
It sparked something in me that made me decide to write music with these old riffs, revamp them and add to them. All while trying to capture the nostalgic feel of what made me love music so much from back in the 2000's. In the process I decided to write a 4 song EP called, "Capturing Nostalgia" and I found a way to do just that.
I get so much happiness from recalling moments I never knew then would leave such a lasting impression. This is why today I know that living in the moment is key.

Am I cursed? With an endless search Not knowing what comes first My death My end Conclusions to the dreams I've had The finale grows much nearer And I find my mind's much clearer Life Seems to find a way And I Seem to do the same Do you Remember? Those past words Dismember Severed from the past Stand strong move on and never Look back Am I cursed? With an endless search Of finding my own self worth And memories are components Of living in the moment Hold on Stand strong Life is what you choose You've got Nothing to lose!

We seem to find In this so called life A reason for our time here alive Do you remember The seas of forever So vast, so bold Oh behold This vital memory Serves yet but one purpose To reach and inside and find Focus We seem to find In this called life A reason for our time The ghost inside we seem to hide The seas of time They drag us down the depths are endless The ghost inside we seem to hide Reach inside and find whats below We seem to find In this so called life A reason for our time here alive We seem to find In this called life A reason for our time The ghost inside we seem to hide The seas of time They drag us down the depths are endless The ghost inside we seem to hide

As we grow closer to eternity I begin to day dream Of past Thoughts and memories They begin to haunt me Rewind the time And remember All the beautiful skies And meloncholy eyes Eyes It seems to me That the only reason we grieve Is when we look back at How we use to be Rewind the time And remember All the beautiful skies And meloncholy eyes Breathe in the time Turn around and face the time Breathe in Meloncholy eyes Theyre creeping in Theyre creeping in again These fallen memories Of what has been It seems to me That the only reason we grieve Is when we look back at How we use to be As we grow closer to eternity I begin to day dream
